Speed sensor
Custom speed sensor: send us your turntable's dimensions
Isostase measures the real speed of the platter with an optical sensor, supplied in its own housing. That housing has to fit the space available, which differs from one turntable to another. To design one for each model, the Isostase sensor needs two dimensions that only you can measure, on your own turntable.
Two ways to place the sensor
- Under the platter: the sensor and its target sit between the underside of the platter and the chassis. This is the most discreet arrangement, possible when there is enough room. The current sensor housing is 25 mm thick.
- Beside the platter: the sensor sits to the side and the target is stuck on the edge of the platter. Useful when there is hardly any room under the platter.
In both cases the target is a small reflective patch stuck onto the platter.
The two dimensions we need from you
With the platter in place, measure in millimetres:
- Dimension A: the free height between the underside of the platter and the chassis of the turntable.
- Dimension B: the distance between the underside of the platter and the base the turntable rests on (the surface it stands on).
Dimension A tells us whether the sensor can fit under the platter. Dimension B sets the height of the housing when the sensor sits beside the platter, standing on the base.
- Use a rigid ruler or a calliper.
- If the underside of the platter or the chassis is not flat, measure at the narrowest point, towards the rim of the platter, and say so in the remarks.
- If the belt runs under the platter, also give in the remarks the space available between the underside of the platter and the belt.
What we already know
| Model | Planned placement | Dimension A / B |
|---|---|---|
| Zet 3 | Under the platter: enough room | 36 mm / 110 mm |
This list is updated by hand as dimensions come in.
